I was born in Cape Town, South Africa, but now live in Sydney, Australia, where I’m a Senior Lecturer at the University of New South Wales Business School. I’ve worked in higher education for over 15 years, driven by a passion for creating learning environments that support both academic achievement and personal wellbeing.
My research explores ways of promoting kindness and wellbeing in education, and I value fostering inclusive, supportive spaces where students and educators alike can thrive.
I’m passionate about building a kinder, more compassionate academic community, where education is not only about knowledge transfer but also about growth, connection, and mutual respect. Through my blog, The Kind Academic, I share reflections on teaching, research, and the power of kindness in education.
